Agriculture Career Planning

 

Project Overview:

You will develop a career plan for an agriculture-related career and select a postsecondary education program which best fits your career of choice.

 

Directions:

1.   Using all available resources, research and select a career you are interested in within the agriculture industry.

 

2.   After you select a career, research the educational choices which would better prepare you for this career. Your educational plan should include:

·        High school coursework specific to your career of interest

·        Path of postsecondary education

-       identify which educational institutions, such as a technical college or a four-year university

-       select a program of study or desired degree

·        Licenses or certifications

·        Where you could obtain hands-on experience

 

3.   Identify five employability skills which you currently possess or would need to enhance to ensure success in your chosen career.

 

4.   Organize and write down all the information for your academic preparation plan on a separate sheet of paper. Identify any short- or long-term goals which will prepare you for obtaining the career. Cite any of the sources used when researching.

 

5.   Once completed, turn in your project according to your instructor’s directions.
