How Do You Manage Your Time
Activity Overview:
You will reflect on your time management habits, identify areas of improvement and set goals for more effective time management.
Directions:
1. Reflect on your time management habits. Consider the following questions and write down your responses on a separate sheet of paper:
· What is the first thing you typically do when you start your day
· Are there specific times of the day when you are more productive
· How do you keep track of deadlines
· What time-wasting distractions do you engage in
· How do you handle unexpected changes to your schedule
· What time management strategies have worked for you in the past
· Do you set goals
2. Identify challenges you face with time management. Consider the following challenges and add at least one more challenge you may have. Write down your responses.
· Distractions
· Prioritizing tasks
· Procrastination
· Overcommitment of time
3. Based on your self-reflection and identified challenges, set two specific time management goals which follow the SMART criteria. Include the two goals on your separate sheet of paper.
4. Once completed, turn in your activity according to your instructor’s directions.
